We went to Little India on the weekend to soak in some of the festive Diwali vibe. As usual, our main goal was to come home with as many sweets as we could carry.

I don’t know the names of all the different types of sweets, but I know this – they’re all really yummy.

These were sort of halvah-like with marzipan on top.

Medjool dates, longer than my thumb, and so incredibly sweet.

Pistachio burfi.

A table full of the diwas (little candles) in various colours.

Almond burfi.

Assorted paan ingredients.

Carrot halvah decorated with edible silver.

Statues for sale.

The big table o’ burfi.

So which ones were your fav Sheryl?
I like the pistachio burfee best and some good halva (indian over turkish variety)
The pink ones, third from the top. They were sort of like soan cake topped with marzipan. Yum.
