Here’s some food for thought for today…
- Will food blogs mean the end of cookbooks and professional food writers? Uh… no. But y’all keep dreaming.
- Display the truth – Coca-Cola intends to start displaying calories on the front of their packaging, but still distorts the number of servings per container to make calories counts look lower.
- Okay, so this is what I want for Christmas – with pink frosting and sprinkles. And I think, for the matching hat… a cherry.
- To every corporation or PR company who thinks they’ve got the pulse of teh intarwebs because they’ve hired a “social media expert”, beware – just because you think you know how the internet works doesn’t mean it can’t be used against you – as the folks at Nestle found out recently when they tried to bribe/manipulate bloggers and had their Twitter hashtags used against them.
- Fat’s where it’s at – turns out that eating fatty foods make for faster response times in mental tests.
- Good Morning Baltimore! – the city made famous by John Waters is the first to implement a Meatless Mondays program into their school system – all schools in the city will serve vegetarian dishes on Mondays. Rock on!
- The Duke of Edinburgh is putting all his truffles in one basket. Well, he would, if he had any truffles. Seems the special spore-inoculated trees, the perfect soil and the Italian truffle-hunting dogs are no match for the 8 years and piles of patience it takes to start a “truffiere”.
