Here’s some food for thought for today…
- Food words we never want to hear again – “foodie” is up there, but Rachael Ray’s abbreviated chatter (EVOO, sammy) seems to be in the lead.
- Measured energy values of 29 quick-serve and sit-down restaurant foods averaged 18% more calories than the stated values. Honestly – are we surprised by this?
- The recent popularity of all types of tea might become problematic as there’s actually a shortage of the stuff.
- I guess it beats steroids, but the things some dairy farmers will do to get their cows to produce more milk is bordering on the bizarre – like the one dairy in Hawaii that plans to install waterbeds for its herd.
- When chefs go on diets, some of those dietary changes are bound to end up on their menus.
- Taco Bell gets flack for its “drive-thru diet”.
- Did you eat your crayons as a little kid? (Warning – photo intense site – lots of big images.)
- Oh, look, another food item with a vaguely religious shape on it. Well that’s gotta be worth something on eBay, doesn’t it?
- It’s freezing in Florida – your orange juice just got expensive.
- Is 2010 the year we learn to respect food?
